Overview

The University of Glasgow, founded in 1451, is one of the world’s most prestigious institutions, known for academic excellence and innovation. As part of a wider development project, WRS was selected to provide POS solutions for multiple Costa Coffee outlets across campus, supporting both existing and new sites.

The challenge

The University of Glasgow required a two-phased POS setup across 10 existing and 3 new sites. The solution needed to be more than just a point-of-sale system; it had to include handheld devices for table service and provide detailed, accurate sales reporting to support commercial decision-making and business growth.

Our solution

WRS implemented 18 terminals and handheld devices across 10 existing sites, followed by installations at 3 new locations. A key element of the solution was the development of custom reporting tools to provide deeper insight into trading performance, empowering the university to make smarter commercial decisions. WRS continues to provide responsive after-sales support and ongoing development.

Resulting impact

The handheld devices have provided staff with greater flexibility and efficiency, leading to faster service and reduced queues. The enhanced reporting has given the university a far better understanding of its trading performance, allowing it to base commercial decisions on accurate data. The project's seamless rollout across all campus locations and the ongoing support from WRS have solidified a strong, reliable partnership.
