WRS Releases 2025 CSR Report

WRS has published its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report for 2025, outlining the company’s progress in sustainability, community engagement, and employee wellbeing.

WRS has published its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report for 2025, outlining the company’s progress in sustainability, community engagement, and employee wellbeing. The report highlights a year of meaningful action – from installing solar panels and expanding electric vehicle schemes to supporting local charities and global education initiatives.

Sustainability at the Core

The report confirms WRS’s commitment to environmental responsibility, with milestones including ISO 14001 accreditation and Silver status in the National Green Impact Scheme. In 2024, WRS installed 126 solar panels at its Isle of Wight headquarters, generating 50,000 kWh annually – enough to power the building and charge electric vehicles, with surplus energy exported to the grid.

The company also expanded its EV salary sacrifice scheme, with 30% of employees now driving electric vehicles, supported by solar-powered charging points. Combined, these initiatives are projected to save 48 tons of carbon emissions over the lifecycle of the program.

“The environment is a key priority for WRS and we see sustainability as a fundamental part of our business strategy,” said Sophie Jackson, Chief Operating Officer.

Investing in People

WRS’s culture of wellbeing and growth was reinforced in 2024 when the company achieved Great Place to Work® certification, based entirely on employee feedback. Sport and community spirit also featured strongly, with four WRS colleagues completing the London Marathon, raising over £12,000 for Wessex Cancer Support—part of a record-breaking £51,000 total for the charity.

Giving Back Locally and Globally

Community engagement remains central to WRS’s CSR approach. The company donated £4,400 worth of toys to the Isle of Wight Christmas Toy Appeal, bringing its total contribution to £18,000 over several years. WRS also sponsored the Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards, celebrating the event’s 50th anniversary and supporting local clubs.

Beyond the Island, WRS continues its partnership with the Costa Foundation, funding schools and education projects in coffee-growing communities worldwide. The report also highlights collaboration with OXHOO and Ecologi, contributing to global reforestation and climate action projects, with 1,250 trees planted to date.

Looking Ahead

The CSR Report sets out WRS’s future priorities, including:

  • Tracking and reducing carbon footprint.

  • Investing further in renewable energy and low-carbon transport.

  • Supporting local and global causes.

  • Strengthening employee wellbeing and workplace culture.

“Building a business that supports people and the planet will always be central to who we are,” the report concludes.
