A year of opportunity

We spoke with our Chief Executive Officer, David Jackson, about his insights on 2025 and the future of the POS industry. The key takeaway? One word: opportunity.

The start of 2025 has brought an exciting shift across the hospitality and retail industries.

Traditionally one of the quieter months, January is now becoming a key time for companies to assess their needs, sparking valuable conversations and opening doors for growth and collaboration. This positive shift towards forward planning is something we see every day in our discussions with customers, both large and small.

Responding to the evolving needs of businesses

The recent festive period highlighted the importance of a trusted POS solution, with high-pressure environments testing reliability and performance of technology used. Many of our customers are recognising the value of fast, reliable, and data-driven systems to stay ahead in a competitive market.

Enhanced efficiency is now a priority, and it’s clear this trend will continue shaping the landscape throughout the year. Our plan at WRS is to keep innovating within a changing market.

Anticipating industry trends

A significant development in 2025 is the growing demand for self-service kiosks to complement traditional systems. The ability to adapt to new trends and integrate innovative solutions is becoming a hallmark of forward-thinking businesses.

Collaborative partnerships with will remain a key driver in ensuring businesses can access the latest tools and technologies to stay competitive. We have some exciting announcements related to these developments to share in Q1, stay tuned!

Building on sustainability efforts

Last year saw a growing focus on sustainability across many organisations – a trend we firmly believe will gain even more momentum in 2025. For us, 2024 was a significant year in advancing our green credentials.

Highlights included participating in the Green Impact Scheme, engaging in Rubbish Networking events, and transitioning to a fully green energy tariff connected to our solar panels. Building on this progress remains a key priority for us in the year ahead, and we’re confident that many other businesses share this commitment to driving positive environmental change.

Looking ahead

With a strong foundation laid in 2024, 2025 holds great potential for innovation, collaboration, and growth. By staying aligned with emerging trends and customer expectations, WRS is well-positioned to make this year a transformative one. Wishing all organisations a successful year ahead.

David Jackson,

Chief Executive Officer
