WRS onboard with Red Funnel
We’re delighted to announce a new partnership with Red Funnel, with a focus on elevating their ReFuel café experience.
Red Funnel has rolled out our advanced electronic point-of-sale (POS) systems in all ReFuel cafés onboard its ferries.
This upgrade is designed to improve transaction speed, streamline service and create a more seamless experience for customers.
Announcing the partnership, Fran Collins, Red Funnel CEO, said:
“We’re delighted to be working with WRS to improve service in our ReFuel cafés. The new payment systems are increasing the speed and efficiency of service. We are continuously exploring new ways to partner with Island businesses and support the local economy, and our latest collaboration with WRS strengthens our community ties whilst enhancing our service across the Solent.”

ReFuel cafés are a key feature of Red Funnel’s onboard offerings, providing passengers with high-quality food and beverages during their crossing.
The cafés offer a variety of options, including hot food and drinks, cakes, pastries and other refreshments, many of which are sourced locally from suppliers such as The Island Tea & Coffee Co. and Island Foods.
Jamie White, Head of Business Development at WRS, said:
“WRS is proud to be the trusted POS provider for Red Funnel, which provides one of the key gateways to and from the Isle of Wight. We are excited to be providing seamless and efficient solutions to support and enhance the ferry company’s operations. Well done to everyone involved in the project.”

Looking ahead, Red Funnel plans to further enhance Red Funnel’s cafés by enhancing its range of locally sourced products and broadening menu options to cater to diverse dietary preferences.
The company is also exploring additional sustainability initiatives, including reducing single-use plastics and adopting more eco-conscious packaging.
