Big John’s is a multi-award winning fast food brand in the UK, famed for its variety of choice. With multiple locations across the Midlands, Big John’s needed to make ordering easy for its customers.
Big John’s Operations Director, Jaz Johngir, explains how WRS has supported their growth.
How has the introduction of kiosks helped?
The biggest investment we’ve made has been the kiosks and they have totally transformed the customer journey. They make the ordering process so much simpler and the customer experience is much better for it. We have definitely noticed the increasing number of people using them.
We have worked hard to transform our brand from a fish and chip shop, into what you see today. Offering a positive and efficient customer journey is really important.

What’s the benefit of having kitchen display systems (KDS) in your outlets?
The digital KDS system from WRS is brilliant. It gives us a much more streamlined approach, enabling us to have an integrated system, controlling the way food orders are routed and giving our teams a real time, complete view. It has really improved the efficiency of our whole operation.
We also have the ‘Order Ready Board’, which faces the customer, so they know their order has been processed and is being made. We are uplifting more stores to follow the same route, and whether it’s our drive-thru or a regular outlet, the experience has to be the same.

Why does working with WRS work so well for you?
We have been working with WRS for many years and everything about them is wonderful. Their support is available seven days a week, which you just don’t get anywhere else. I know I can pick up the phone if I need anything and the team will be there to assist.
We have new sites coming and WRS will be with us on that exciting journey. Our ePOS provider is vital and we know WRS is the perfect partner for us.
