Overview

Mountbatten, a leading hospice and care organisation with sites on the Isle of Wight and in Hampshire, sought to refresh its outdated POS systems across its shops and cafés, while also adding the WRS Gift Aid solution. With a large volunteer workforce and a sensitive environment, simplicity, reliability, and calm were essential. WRS worked closely with Mountbatten to deliver a bespoke solution that met both operational and emotional needs.

The challenge

Mountbatten needed a POS system that was easy for volunteers to use, reduced complexity, and supported Gift Aid processing in a more efficient and less manual way. The previous system was outdated and not fit for purpose, especially in emotionally sensitive environments like hospice cafés.

Our solution

WRS delivered a bespoke POS solution across Mountbatten’s shops and cafés, featuring simplified tills and seamlessly integrated Gift Aid functionality. Designed to be intuitive for volunteers, the system reduces administrative burden and supports calm, confident service delivery in emotionally sensitive settings.Our in-house Gift Aid solution, fully integrated with HMRC, empowers charity sector customers like Mountbatten to claim thousands of pounds more in Gift Aid than ever before. In fact, last year alone, Mountbatten Hospice secured £100,247 in additional funding through their shops using this solution.
