Inspired to run for cancer cause
Four determined WRS team members are going the extra mile to raise vital funds for a local cancer charity.
“Hearing stories about how the charity helps people inspired us to do this.”
The London Marathon is only weeks away and four WRS colleagues will be among the thousands of runners taking part.
Sophie Jackson, Ben Smith, Luke Bodington and Cailemb Wolsey are teaming up to raise money for Wessex Cancer Support.
The charity provides free emotional and wellbeing support for anyone affected by cancer, with centres in four locations across the south, including the Isle of Wight.

Recently, the WRS quartet met with Wessex Cancer Support’s CEO, Rachel Bilsberry-Grass, to hear more about its work.
“We learned so much about the different types of support available for people with cancer and their families,” said Sophie, WRS Chief Operating Officer.”
“Must of us know someone who has been affected by cancer and knowing there is a support network available to them is really important.”
“Hopefully we can help fly the flag for Wessex Cancer Support and raise some vital funds for them too.”
The group have been busy training over recent months in preparation for the run on Sunday 27th April.

While there’s healthy competition between them all, their approach is focused on supporting each other to finish.
“We’re very much in it together and willing everyone on,” said Luke, WRS Support Team Manager.
“The training is tough but it’s nothing compared to what people with cancer have to experience.”
“We’re very proud to play our part in helping the charity.”
