Our collective commitment to a vital cause

The Isle of Wight Foodbank is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks supported by The Trussell Trust, which aims to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

“The Isle of Wight Foodbank is a really important cause and as a team, we are committed to supporting it.”

Each month, the Foodbank feeds between 400 and 500 people, and closer to Christmas, that number more than doubles.

In the last 12 months, over 7,000 emergency food parcels have been given to local people, with nearly 6,000 children among those supported.

Our WRS Systems team live and work in this community, which is why backing this cause matters to us.

Simon Best, WRS Systems Marketing Lead, said:

“As a team, we have supported the Isle of Wight Foodbank for the past few years. It is a collective effort. We all understand how difficult these times are from the hard-hitting facts we read about.”

The Isle of Wight Foodbank is part of a nationwide network of foodbanks supported by The Trussell Trust, which aims to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

“Having visited the foodbank’s distribution centre in Cowes, we’ve seen first-hand the level of operation required to keep families supported. We really encourage anyone to get behind the Isle of Wight Foodbank because it makes a huge difference to people who really need it.”

The Cowes distribution centre is the charity’s main office, though there are foodbanks located across the Island.

Items most in need include tinned tomatoes, long-life milk, fruit juice, squash, coffee, washing up liquid, deodorant and toilet roll.

A food collection box is located at our head offices for staff and visitors to voluntarily leave donations.
