Wightlink In The Community
Event Brings Islanders Together
WRS recently joined other Isle of Wight businesses, charities, groups and individuals at a special Wightlink in the Community event.
Held at Newport’s Quay Arts, it brought together members of the Wightlink team to meet supported partners on the Island.
Each year, Wightlink sponsors a range of sporting teams, local charities and arts organisations with discounted travel, particularly focusing on organisations that support youth development on the Isle of Wight.
Wightlink has implemented various initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint, such as using low-emission engines, reducing waste, and promoting recycling – something the team at WRS is also extremely passionate about.
WRS Business Development Manager, Simon Best, said:
“The event gave us the chance to hear about the support that Wightlink provides on the Island. From sports teams to charities, it’s clear to see how much of a huge difference it makes.
“It also gave people the chance to say, ‘thank you’. It was an enjoyable evening and I look forward to the next one.”
WRS is proud to supply bespoke POS solutions to Wightlink Ferries across its fleet of vessels and terminals on the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Lymington.

Our Community Involvement
WRS is passionate about our local community on the Isle of Wight, and those further afield. We are regularly involved in charity initiatives and fundraising events, from cycling challenges to coffee mornings – and even mountain climbing.
